Y’all Ask Some Weird Questions, But Stella Rose Takes the Cake

November 15, 2013

That’s a long title. All that to say, it’s Follow Up Friday! A blog hop hosted by Jodi, at Heart Like a Dog, and today I’m co-hosting. Poor Jodi must have waited till the last minute this week if I was all she got. 🙁 We’ll make do because y’all always come through with great questions! Weird questions, but great.

We’ll start with Stella Rose, since her questions are nearly always the best (feel free to take that as a challenge and ask your own weird questions in the comments).
Wowzer isa gonna have to start learnin to sit like that frenchie bulldog…i bets i would get lots more treats…..we like chicken hearts that our momma boils for us, is that plumper the same as that or is it bigger….just askin stella rose
This is the Frenchie in question, Pierre:

A sitting French Bulldog
Pierre, the French Bulldog, does a pretty cool sit. Especially when Aunt Flea is giving out treats.

Stella Rose, my momma boiled chicken hearts for our dogs growing up. And livers and gizzards. She’d go down to the fried chicken shack and buy them cheap, in bulk, mostly for the dogs. We liked the gizzards, or I did. Mmmm. Chewy. And I can tell ya that your boiled chicken hearts are going to be plumper and juicier than a Jones Pumper, or pig heart. The Pumpers are baked, so they’re much larger, but kinda flat and like jerky. Completely different kind of treat. Both very good. All I can say is, your momma must love you very much if she’s boiling chicken hearts for you.

Right before that question, Kolchak Puggle’s mama had asked:
When a pork pumper is at Casa de Kolchak, all hope of decorum and good treat manners goes out the woofing window. Kol will take you hand off. After all, would you challenge this face?? http://kolchakskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/DSC00050.jpg
Y’all have GOT to click on that link. THAT FACE. Seriously. No. I would not challenge that face.

Speaking of Pumpers and pig hearts, Oz the Terrier (I love that title) asks:
Hmmm, I have never in my life seen a pig’s heart…for snack. From the looks of all these photos, they MUST be delicious (isn’t everything at Jones?).
Beagle makes quick work of a Jones pig heart - OM NOM NOM
Belle makes quick work of the Pumper. She loves a good pig heart.

Why yes, Oz! Everything at Jones IS delicious! That’s my favorite kind of question, btw. 😉

I wasn’t going to field anymore Pumper questions, but Blueberry’s Human knows how to ask weird questions.
Pumpers always makes me think of that song Potsie sang “Pump Pump Pumps Your Blood”. Remember that? Come on…I know you do! :)
Then she sent me the video!

Y’all, I watched Happy Days with the rest of my generation – in prime time and in re-reuns – but I don’t remember this episode! That was awesome! How old were Potsie, Ralph, Richie and the Fonz at this point? They must have been mid-20’s, right? Geez o’flip.

One more question! Jackie asks:
Did not know that gnomes eat eggs. Do they steal them from your chickens?
This is in regards to my gnome –

My garden gnome
Just your average garden variety gnome, keeping an eye on things while I was gone.

Keeping an eye on my house while I was away in Louisiana. There are different schools of thought on gnomes and eggs, but I read that in folklore gnomes eat eggs. So I’m going with that. The gnome stays in the front yard, away from the chicken coop.

Y’all go visit the other blogs in today’s hop! And say hi to Jodi for me! And don’t stop asking your weird questions. 🙂

Until I write again …
