Windees Keep My Giants’ Joints Healthy
Kelsie McKenzie, Giant Breed Dog Blogger for It’s Dog or Nothing
As a giant breed dog mom, I’m always worried about joint health for my Great Pyrenees. From the moment they came home with me, I did everything possible to help them grow up with healthy joints. From carrying them up and down stairs to adding a variety of supplements to their meals, it hasn’t always been the most enjoyable process, especially for the dogs.
Don’t get me wrong, most of the supplements I give them are designed as treats, but Great Pyrenees are quite the clever breed. They aren’t fooled by the “treat” I toss into their food bowl and watch like a hawk to ensure they both actually consume. It isn’t uncommon for me to find a half chewed up treat at the bottom of their bowl or left in the middle of the living room floor.
I knew there had to be a better way to keep me happy (by keeping their joints healthy) and keep them happy (by providing a tasty snack).
Jones Natural Chews Windees
I’m going to be completely honest – I was a bit hesitant to try Windees for my two dogs. As a vegetarian, the idea of purchasing a beef trachea was way outside of my comfort zone. However, I knew they were a good source of glucosamine and chondroitin, which are absolutely essential for healthy joints!
Needless to say, they were both beyond thrilled with my new method to promote healthy joints. Here’s five reasons why I love Jones Natural Chews Windees for improving my giant breeds’ joint health.
- Made and sourced in the USA
- Contain no artificial ingredients
- 12” long – perfect size for giant breeds!
- Help to keep teeth clean and tartar-free
- Long-lasting
One of the coolest things about Windees is that since they are hollow, you can easily stuff them with another favorite treat. I will often stuff them with a wet food or some peanut butter and pop them in the freezer for a healthy, even longer-lasting treat. With summer right around the corner, don’t you think your dog would love frozen treat?
If you have a giant breed, or are concerned about your dog’s joint health, and are looking for a natural, tasty source of glucosamine and chondroitin, Windees are a must-try!
