The downside to dog blogging – is there a downside to dog blogging ? Of course there is! The downside to dog blogging is that I want another dog or three! I see them on all the other dog blogs and I WANT them.
*sigh*
We’re a small, average family. We consist of one mom, one dad, three to five teenagers (depends on the day), two Aussie mixes, one orange tabby cat, three chickens and two ducks. We live in the suburbs of Tulsa, in a neighborhood, with a fenced yard. We’re just right.
Except. Except, I want another dog. Or three.
What kind of dog? you ask. Oh man. I’d start with another Australian shepherd. Or even a border collie. Maybe a corgi if either of those fell through. Then a great Pyrenees. They’re defenders of the flock, you know. They would protect my poultry from predators, the Pyrenees would. Maybe a great Dane. And a golden retriever. Or an Irish setter. Hmm. A basset hound would be fun to keep. An English sheepdog! Or OMG! A NEWFOUNDLAND!!!
There are just too many dogs out there.
Speaking of too many dogs. There are too many dogs who don’t have forever homes. Which is why I’d get my great Pyrenees from the rescue society down in Houston. Houston is too hot for big fluffy dogs like the Pyrenees. I’d take them all home.
I’d get the Australian shepherd from the Aussie rescue society. Such pretty, hard working, loyal dogs need good families.
I’m looking for other rescue societies. Please, if you know of one, leave their link in the comments? Rescue dogs are the bestest. And they need good homes. I’d like to be part of the solution. I’d also like to love on them all with a Jones Natural Chew. All dogs deserve to smile, right?
Until I write again …
