T is for Tell, which is the A to Z Challenge cheater’s way of telling you we have another interview with a Jones Natural Chews employee today. Dee is one of Jones‘ newest employees, so not one I’ve met in the fur. Let’s jump in and let her tell her story!

Hi! Who are you and how did you come to work for Jones?
My name is Deniseah but everyone just calls me Dee. I am so grateful to work for the Jones.. I actually go to the same church as Laura, Dean and Dan who all work here and we just added Becki as well. Anyhow I was wanting to transition my job situation and Laura mentioned that they needed someone as an assistant in Marketing, I have had lots of office and Customer Service experience but not much in Marketing, but I applied and had my interviews with Alice then Suzy and I was the lucky winner.
Have you always had dogs, or is this your first dog?
Oscar is not my first dog he is actually my 2nd. My other dog was a mixed breed that my family and I adopted after finding her in the road. At the time I lived on 200+ acres in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin and a big dog worked. Heather was massive. She looked like a German Shepherd, but had long hair and is very large. Over 6 feet tall on her hind legs and her head was as big as a soccer ball, but gentle as can be. She was not an inside dog though, her tail was vicious and we had a tiny house, so she actually lived in the barn. When I left Wisconsin almost 4 years ago I left Heather on the farm with my ex-husband.

Do you own any other animals? If so, what?
Right now I do not have any additional animals but I have almost always had a cat as well. I even had a calf, my parents bought him (Duke) for my 30thbirthday he was only 6 weeks old when I got him, but unfortunately he got very ill when he was 2 and I had to put him to sleep, that was very painful for me because Duke really though he was a dog and followed me everywhere he was another one of my babies
What is your dog’s favorite Jones chew?
Oscars favorite Jones chew is actually the beef sticks, he has issues with his teeth and doesn’t like to chew much anymore.
What breed is your dog?
Oscar is a Long Haired Dachshund.

How did your dog find you? Purebred? Rescue? What’s your dog’s story?
I met Oscar and immediately feel in love with him, but it was some time before he was actually mine. I worked for Oscar’s original parents, they actually bred dachshunds, and Oscar was one of their male breeders, actually there best breeder. Anyhow when I got to work in the morning I would get him out of the kennel and he stayed in the office with me, then when I went home I would return him to the rest of the dogs. After a year or so my friends lost their house and had to get rid of most of the dogs, so I took Oscar home with me, and he continued to come to work with me for several more years that I worked for that company. The timing in my life was perfect, most of my children were grown and out of the house and I was still needing to be a Mommy!!
What’s your favorite thing to do with your dog? Walk? Play fetch? Agility? Dog park? Search and rescue?
Oscar is blind or sees very little so we can’t go for walks anymore, the traffic scares him. Our favorite thing is cuddle time and he loves to have me pat on the ground in front of him and he will try and catch my hand. He is not very playful any longer
If your dog could talk, what is one thing it would ask you to change about yourself?
Wow that is a tricky question. I think that Oscar would tell me to move out of my current living situation so that he can have the other half of the bed to himself.
If you could ask your dog one question, what would it be?
Are you happy?
How many dogs is too many dogs?
I really don’t know. I guess if the dogs are happy and well taken care of, the number is irrelevant.

Dee, thank you for telling your and Oscar’s story! I love a good story, and I’m so glad that Oscar ended up with someone who loves him. What a happy ending!
Y’all come back tomorrow and see what the letter U has in store for us with the A to Z Challenge!
Until I write again …
