Is spring break over already? Spring isn’t even here yet!!
I spent ALL DAY yesterday reading dog blogs, and I saw a recurring theme – spring is here, but it ain’t here. Tons of mad people and happy dogs.
Happy dogs? Why sure! Between the fun snow to play in, and the way pawsome mud to track into the house, dogs everywhere are having a blast! But their peoples? Not so much.
I blame it all on the groundhog. You read that right – Punxsutawney Phil is to blame. He LIED.

The photo is ABC’s.
I think it’s high time we go back to eating groundhog for dinner. I think we need to start with Phil. Who’s with me?!? Mob mentality has got to be good for something, right? Because all this weird weather is getting old, just like Bill Murray’s life in Groundhog Day …
That’s probably one of my favorite movies. Maybe I should watch it tonight.
Seriously, though, this week has been spring break. That means that one of my children has cleaned his room (two to go). Two children have been working and playing. I’ve been working and caring for baby chicks. Essentially, very little changed this week. I just realized that it’s spring break and we’ve done nothing with it.
And that’s okay. Breathe with me. *in* *out* That’s it … deep breaths.
Y’all know I’m in Tulsa, OK, right? (If you’re here in town, or just going through, give me a holler! We’ll do lunch) We’ve had snow exactly once this winter. It was one day. It was the day I flew to Orlando. I missed the first and only snow in two years. The ducks didn’t miss it, though.

So I’ve spent months being jealous of all of y’all who’ve had snow. Horribly, horribly jealous. And just this week, spring break week, I decided to be content with the arrival of spring. ‘Can’t stop spring, right? Except I looked at the weather …
Sunday, Mar 24
Rain and snow showers. Highs in the low 40s and lows in the upper 20s.
Day Mar 24

(From the Weather Channel’s website)
I’d just settled in to the idea of warm weather and flowers.
If you don’t mind, I’m going to curl up in bed with my dogs and come out again next February. Maybe there will be a new groundhog by then. The dogs will survive on Jones Natural Chews, and I might just have to try the jerky. To keep me alive till next February.

Until I write again …
