Rowdy Pup, the Australian Shepherd

March 26, 2014

Do y’all remember Rowdy Pup from last summer, the Australian Shepherd pup I visited with? Here, this may jog your memory:

Aussie pup meme
Rowdy, an adorable Australian Shepherd pup, is a red or liver merle.

Or maybe this photo?

Rowdy Pup’s mom let me meet with him again to treat him with some Jones Natural Chews Variety Bag treats. We had a grand time! He’s all grown up, now.

Saucy Australian Shepherd
Rowdy is all grown up at nearly a year, and still as saucy as ever.

So for this Wordless Wednesday, I present the handsome red merle Australian Shepherd, Rowdy Pup! And his big brother, Zeus! The Great Dane!

Down. Stay. Good Aussie!
Rowdy’s mom has done an amazing job training him. And he’s all Australian Shepherd, active and alert. He’s chewing on a Pork Skin, I think.

Red merle Aussie markings
Rowdy Pup’s mom says he comes from non-merle parents. He has so much white. They’re thinking of breeding him with a nearly black female Aussie.

Waiting for a treat
The Australian Shepherd sitting pose – isn’t he beautiful? He’s waiting for a Bully Stick from the Variety Bag.

Zeus the Great Dane
Zeus is always a handsome boy. Last year his mom told me he didn’t like treats and I proved her wrong. This time he turned his nose up at the Pork Skins. He loved the Chickly Links and the Big Paw (beef) Jerky last year. So no pork for Zeus.

I just love these dogs. And I really appreciate that their mom let me meet up for grown up dog photos of Rowdy. He’s just as gorgeous now as he was as a pup. Rowdy devoured every treat I gave him and played fetch with the Hoof. We were at a park, so there was no time for leisurely gnawing.

Chewy joined us for the park romp (the same Chewy who just took a tape dispenser off the coffee table, followed by a dog brush – excuse me a second …). But Chewy was so tiny compared to either of these dogs, that photos were nearly impossible.

Anywho! Y’all come back tomorrow and see what we’ll be talking about! I’m eager to find out!

Until I write again …
