Happy This n That Thursday! This n That Thursday is a blog hop sponsored by 2 Brown Dawgs and Ruckus the Eskie. I love today because it’s the perfect day for catching up on bits and pieces of news from the week. News like the new baby niece and progress on the chicken coop. And a surprise.
I’m typing with one hand this morning, since there’s a baby in the other hand. Awkward? Yes. Adorable? Oh my, yes.

We’ve had no end of fun with this darling week old girl and her big brother. Yes, she has a brother. He’s three.

He’s a big help around the house.
Should I tell you the surprise yet? Hmm. No, I think I’ll wait. Maybe after the next bit of news …
Hunny, while I’ve been gone, has been working on the chicken coop and has sent me photos. So far he’s just fenced in around the base and given them the old eight foot run, but he plans to give them a large fenced yard this weekend. Like so many other places in the country, it’s been raining like crazy, impeding work on the coop. Let’s take a look at what’s been done so far?

I love it. Absolutely love it!
So what’s the surprise? I’m having lunch today with a dog blogger! Maggie, of Oh My Dog!, recently moved to Louisiana and has graciously agreed to meet me in New Orleans for lunch. I’m so excited! We’re going to Deanie’s. I’m hoping that they still have some of the best seafood in town. So stay tuned for photos and stories!
On the dog front, I met the neighbor’s dog yesterday. Gumbo is a huge Golden Retriever, three years old and full of energy. I took tons of photos with my new camera. My ISO settings were all wrong and none of them came out. It was very sad. But Gumbo LOVED the Jones Chicken Taffy and Big Paw Jerky. I’m hoping to snap more photos before I leave, since he’s a beautiful deep red with a handsome face.
I should probably scoot. The baby needs her aunt. The teenager needs to wake up and get his schoolwork done, trim a few more trees. And I need to get on the road in a bit to meet Maggie! I’m so excited! Did I already tell you that?
Until I write again …
