Y’all, I need advice.
No, no, no. It has nothing to do with my lack of fashion sense. I’m heading to Bark World in October and I’m taking this little monster –
I’ve traveled with dogs plenty of times, but it’s always camping or to stay with family. I just pack their food, leashes, blankets and bowls and we’re ready to go. This time it’ll be me and Chewy, staying in a fancy hotel, hobnobbing with lots of other dogs and humans. There are RULES, people. Rules. So I need advice.
Chewy will be up to date on shots come October (that’s when he’s due for his next round). He takes heartworm pills regularly. And that’s it. I don’t use any flea treatment for the dogs. We’ve only had one case of fleas in the nearly eight years we’ve lived in Tulsa, thanks to the weather and backyard chickens. I don’t want to put Chewy on a regular flea med, and I don’t want to douse the tiny thing in chemicals, so I’m asking for a safe solution. Anyone? We’ll be heading deep south, first, so fleas are a danger.
Bordatello – he’ll be getting the shot along with his vaccines. Anything in particular I need to know about that?
Let’s see – shots, kennel cough vaccine, flea treatment, heartworm preventative, leash, collar, costume, blanket, food, bowls, treats … what am I missing? I know that I need to be socializing him more now. But what am I missing? I can’t help but think that it’s something big. Help!
While we’re talking Bark World, Suzy and I will have a table set up there. With treats. So if you don’t already have your tickets, WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! You know you want to meet Chewy. You know your dog wants to meet the treats. So come ON, already! There will be fabulous dogs there, just waiting to sniff your crotch!
So! Warm up your advice giving muscles! Tell me what I’m missing. I wan this to be a great experience for both myself and Chewy. So help me out?
AND! If you haven’t already entered the giveaway for the free Boo Bucket, do that now! It’s a bucket full of treats, plus a great trick or treating bucket for your dog!
Until I write again …
