The Hoof is my favorite treat. I know, I know … I say that about all of the Jones Natural Chews. And I mean it with EVERY SINGLE ONE. But I mean it more with this one. Allow me to expound?
The Hoof is my favorite treat because it’s great for nearly all sizes of dogs. From gorgeous Australian Shepherds and Border Collies:
The Hoof is my favorite treat because it’s not a consumable meat treat, meaning it lasts a long time as a gnawing chew. It’s also not a bone, so even though it provides the same benefit as a bone (dental cleaning for teeth and gums, long-lasting chew to keep dogs occupied and content), it’s slowly consumed, being cartilage. Additionally, the Hoof is lightweight, which makes it the perfect chew for even the tiniest of dogs. Seriously, y’all – the Hoof is the perfect treat, hence my favorite treat. What’s not to love?
I’m so glad you asked.
The only down side to the Hoof, in my opinion, is potentially hilarious, depending on your sense of humor. Some Hooves – not all – can stink when they’re being chewed. The ones I gave out this weekend did not stink. And typically there’s no real smell when the Hoof is dry and just laying around. It’s the gnawing and saliva which activates the stink in the cartilage.
For some reason, this is very funny to me. Maybe it’s all the times Patches or Chewy has brought a Hoof into the bedroom at night and set in to chewing after we’ve gotten comfortable under the covers. It takes a couple of minutes to realize where the smell is coming from. And then there’s no mistaking it. Heh. Hunny gets a little worked up. In fact, there was a Hoof ban here for awhile. Don’t tell him, but I’ll be giving our dogs Hooves later today. Plural. It’ll be a fun game of find the Hoof.
Today is Tasty Tuesday, and believe me when I say that your dog will find the Hoof tasty. It’s also a giveaway Tuesday! The Rafflecopter below will walk you through how to enter. Here are the rules, so some lucky dog can win a yummy Hoof!
