Monday Mischief, Jimmy Style, huh? I can hear you asking yourself, “Who is Jimmy and why should I care about his style? What does this have to do with Monday Mischief, anyway?!”
Y’all don’t know the half of Jimmy and his style.
A couple of months ago a friend suggested I make a bow tie for Jim. It sounded like a good idea at the time. I could envision an annual calendar, Jim in different ties, costumes, a cute little top hat. Seriously. Would that not be the cat’s pajamas?
This is what my attempt produced:
So back to the drawing board. The thought isn’t always what counts, after all. I came back with red satin, and who should be waiting at the door for me but Mary Ann! It matches her comb and she is STYLIN’.
Tried the red bow on Jimmy. He ran away and took it off. Stinker.
So I tried again with a plaid bow. I was sure the plaid would be the tie to rock the catbox.
What? You know you sing it that way, too.
So I brought out the plaid tie and had my son hold Jimmy.
That didn’t work out so well. Poor baby is terrified. I asked Oliver to set him on the chair and we’d try again.
Here I am expecting his ducky attitude and swagger, which he usually has in spades. No such luck. Jim is terrified of bow ties. What I’m asking myself, and I know you’re asking yourself, is, “Will he wear a hat?”
That’s a question for another Monday Mischief.
