Meeting Dog Bloggers

February 22, 2013

I lied. I’m not going to talk about Jones’ newest products today. I thought long and hard and decided to save it for Tuesday. Yes? Today I tell you about the dog bloggers I’ve met here today, at the Global Pet Expo!

Terrier Torrent
This dog and his mama are a beautiful pair

Beth is Gizmo’s mama. Gizmo couldn’t have a nicer mama, or be a sweeter terrier. We wandered all over the trade show, asking questions, picking up samples (I’ll be doing a giveaway soon with some of the samples I picked up), making friends along the way.

Happy dog bloggers
I LOVE meeting other bloggers! Beth and Gizmo rock!

Beth is a DEAR. I adore her blog, Terrier Torrent, and her little Gizmo is the perfect gentleman. He took issue, though, when two Great Pyrenees ganged up on him.

Dogs
This is after things have settled down. I’d be a little nervous about the size difference, too.

It was the first time I’d see either of the dogs stand up. Remember the Pyrs from yesterday? Eventually things settled out.

Great Pyrenees and Terrier
Look how big the Great Pyr is! Gorgeous. Gizmo just had to come say hello!

Gizmo’s mom had to get involved. But that was okay. We wound up asking lots of questions about their products, finding out more about their durable, long-lasting soft comfort cones. Nifty product. If I had a dog which had hot spots or allergies, I’d order one of these in a heart beat.

Great Pyr and friends
Who wouldn’t adore this dog? Seriously. Clowie must have relatives in California.

As Beth and I wandered, we found other dogs. Puppies, in fact.

terrier and puppies
Gizmo checks out the cute, young competition. I don’t think Giamo has anything to worry about.

And glamorous foreign models, hired by a large pet food company to hold the puppies and lure people in.

Dachshund puppy
She had a lovely, lilting accent. This long haired Dachshund puppy about sucked me in. CUTE!

Jones doesn’t have glamorous foreign models. They have me. Which I happen to think is better. I keep telling myself that … 😀

Past the puppies, we came to a booth with dog hair products. From the makers of BioSilk, there’s DogSilk, I think. The product is BioSilk, ph balanced for a dog’s skin. It feels and smells great on my skin, as well as on a dog’s coat. Mmmmm.

Fur silk
This lady was lovely, letting us try the silky product. It made an immediate difference on Gizmo’s wiry terrier fur.

Beth was looking for Pepper, Angel’s Pomeranian. Pepper found us. Rather, Pepper found Gizmo and alerted her mama. There’s no love lost there, but Beth and Angel get along famously.

Cute Pomeranian
Pepper, the Pomeranian of Angel, is cute, but doesn’t seem to care for other dogs. She does love her stroller!

Pepper is a little large for a Pom, which I think is rather nice. And there we have two dog bloggers … my third dog blogger, Christie, is Lulu’s mom! Christie, of Life With Beagle, has a press pass and it was nearly lunch time before we finally found each other. Christie and Beth are both Central Florida dog bloggers.

Last, but not least, I met Olivia, the very first Brussels Griffon I’ve ever seen. OMD. I fell in love. It might be safer to say that Olivia fell in love with me.

Brussels Griffon
Olivia is small, but quiet and sweet. She gets along with everyone, it seems.

I sat on the floor for the express purpose of getting to know little Olivia.

Adorable dog
Heart melting, isn’t it?

Her mama makes and sells dog treats, so I didn’t collect her contact info (competitor), but I had a long talk with the mama. This tiny dog is a rescue pup. The Brussels Griffon has a wiry coat, a severe underbite, and is the most affectionate dog I’ve come in contact with this week. It leaned into me every time I tried to back away so I could get off the floor.

OMD
Olivia says, “Don’t leave me. Please.”

I mean, look at that face! So ugly it’s cute. And a killer cute personality. The mama has another rescue BG at home in New York City.

Y’all, I’m tired. I’m going to tell you all about Jones’ new products next week. We’ll have another giveaway the following week. I’ll be giving away product samples for some cool stuff you may not have heard of. But right now? I’m going to find a quiet corner, curl up and pass out. M’kay?

Until I write again …
