Kidding Season, Farm Dogs
Welcome to Wordless Wednesday, courtesy of BlogPaws! Today I take advantage of friends (no, not you … or you … you just stop that right now or I’ll report you … or you) and their weekend hospitality. Our homesteading friends are hip deep in kidding season, so we went for a visit and I took a bajillion photos of goat kids and farm dogs. Kidding season is serious business. Oh my goodness, y’all. Look at the cute!
I always bring plenty of Jones Natural Chews for the farm dogs, Anatolian/Great Pyrenees mixes. For that, they let me out of the car when I arrive and follow me like Mary’s little lamb. Say hello to some lovely farm dogs.
These giants have a job to do. They protect the chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, bunnies, horses and cow from predators. They do it well, fighting off coyotes and mountain lions, keeping critters safe from hawks and strangers. And they make exceptions for the treat lady and Jones treats.
But this seems to be the farm dogs’ favorite time of year – kidding season. Something about lively baby goats makes even these warrior dogs smile. I loved watching Guerrero lay in one spot while the kids frolicked and gamboled all around him. He looked content. And they learn quickly to trust and love him. It’s a beautiful thing.
I love to watch my Hunny with all of the critters. That makes me smile.
Do you want to see your dog smile? I’ll bet you do. Jones Natural Chews is giving away the Other Ear, a tasty pork chin that’s irresistible to dogs. A single ingredient treat, the Other Ear is like a mix of bacon and crack for dogs, but much healthier than crack. Probably tastier than bacon. I haven’t tried them side by side, yet. I’m feisty this morning. Maybe we’ll do a side by side comparison next week with my four dogs, see which one wins. Anywho, click this sentence to open a new window with the giveaway post, then read and scroll to the box at the bottom to enter. Your dog will thank you. Naturally. And that will make you smile. Of course.
Spreading the good chews …
