Enjoy a classic post today! We ask, “What is a Pizzle?” If you don’t already know, prepare to blush. And today is the last day to enter the Saddle Knuckle giveaway!
My question about the Steer Stick is simple: What is the difference between the Steer Stick and the Bully Stick? They’re both bull Pizzle, right? But what is a Pizzle? So I read the descriptions to see what defines each. Here’s what Jones says about the Steer Stick:
Dogs go crazy over these sticks. This stick is a USA all natural steer pizzel that is oven baked with no artificial ingredients. It is a high protein, low fat chew and is very digestible for all size dogs. All Jones products are 100% grown and made in the USA.
The description on the Bully Sticks says, and I quote, “Don’t be mistaken; this is not a bone in any way.” Did that make anyone else laugh? Here I am assuming y’all know what a Bully Stick, or a pizzle is. Not to be crude, and I know that this is a family show, but the pizzle is simply a bull penis.
Did I find out what the difference is between Steer Sticks and Bully Sticks? Yes I did! Your inquiring mind wants to know as badly as mine, right? You might want to cover your children’s eyes while I explain.
The bull and the steer are both male cows, yes? The difference in the two is their “manhood”. Bulls are fully intact, meaning they are able to reproduce. I think that’s the point, really, to make new cows. Steers are no longer able to reproduce, having had their testicles removed. So what’s their point?
To grow into nice, big beef cows! But the male parts are no longer the same size.
Here’s another way to look at it. I have a male dog, Flash. He was neutered early on, meaning his testicles were removed when he was about a year old. His Bully Stick became a Steer Stick. If I look at an intact dog, not neutered, the difference is fairly obvious.
Oh my. I don’t think I’m saying this right. I don’t actually think I want to say this right. My cheeks are turning red. I’m going to let Suzy explain this to y’all from a butcher’s perspectives when I asked, “What is a pizzle and is there I difference between steer and bull pizzle?”
It is the difference between balls and no balls. Testosterone. Steers are fixed. The proper name for them is cattle. This is what we eat. Sometimes they will mix a heifer in. A girl cow that has not had a calf. They are also good eating. But, once they have had a calf or are a bull (boy not fixed) they are terrible eating.
A bull pizzle is a lot larger
A steer stick is a lot smaller
Cow –Mom that has had babies
Bull – Dad that can make babies
Steer – What we eat ( teenage boy – no nuts)
Heifer – teenage girl that has not had a baby
Calf – Toddler/Baby
And that boys and girls is the butcher version of the bovine family
See? Cute bunny. What were we talking about?
I have no idea.
Until I write again …
