Wishing all of you a Tasty Tuesday! I’d like to tell you all a bit more about the Jones Slammer Bone, and stress what I feel like I don’t say enough – Jones Natural Chews are all 100% made in the USA! It’s a bone, you say. What’s the big deal?
Do a Google search for “dog bones made in China”. The results are chilling. The first handful of results are about dog deaths. But we’re going to be positive today! Jones bones are not only grown and made in the USA, they’re also all natural! Take the Slammer Bone, for instance.
Here’s what Jones has to say about this mammoth bone:
Our Slammer Bone has lip smacking meaty chunks all around the bone, making your dogs mouth start to water. He will have a slamming good time working on this bone. It is a whole USA beef leg bone with one knuckle from the front leg. It is a great bone for medium to large dogs, naturally baked for greatness.
And the ingredients? A bone. It’s not listed on the site, but I think there’s one other ingredient, a natural liquid smoke dip before being baked. And that’s it. I know that George took the knuckle off after eating the meaty bits, then tore into the leg bone.
Speaking of George, last his mama told me, he’s nearly back to his old self. And mom and kids are doing yard patrol for mushrooms.
And speaking of caution, here’s what Jones (and I) say about bones and your dog:
Supervision is always recommended when you fee your dog bones, chews, or treats. Choose a suitable bone or treat for your dog that is consistent with the size of the dog and the dog’s chewing habits. It is recommended to take any bone away if it becomes small enough to fit inside the dog’s mouth and remove any small bone pieces the dog has chewed off.
Some of y’all think this is common sense, and I agree. But some people are first time dog and pet owners and just don’t know from dogs. Dogs gulp and scarf down food. Dogs eat things we’d never think to, like cat poo and poison mushrooms. Dogs, for the most part, are not dainty, delicate eaters. They’re pigs, people. And they’ll hurt themselves unintentionally because something TASTES SO GOOD. Jones is that kind of good. You wouldn’t set your toddler at a table with an entire cake then walk out of the room would you? Same thing. Just pay attention is all.
We had to take a long piece of bone away from George, which made him sad. But it slivered off while he was eating. We threw it away and he went back to chomping down on that giant Slammer Bone. OM NOM NOM.
So happy Tasty Tuesday! Celebrate with Kol and Sugar! I like that there’s a Tasty Tuesday every week. And subscribe to the blog! You won’t want to miss our regular features.
