AROOOOOO! Had to get that out. It’s the Petco card giveaway today! It’s also This’n’That Thursday, hosted by 2 Brown Dawgs, some of my favorite dog people. Which means we’ll be jumping around a bit. Before we do, have you entered the giveaway for wabbit jerky?! The deadline is tonight at midnight!!
Who wants a $25 Petco gift card? Petco gave them to us at Bark World while promoting their new Star Wars pet line. I was only a little excited about that. Mostly because the box of my Bark World stuff was at my aunt’s and I forgot about it until it arrived yesterday.
There was other cool stuff in the box, but I think I’m going to do a month of giveaways in October (my birthday month), just for fun, so I’ll save those photos for next month.
There’s one thing in the box that I won’t be giving away:
I made the switch back to natural bar soap several years ago when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. Bad thyroid dries out my skin. Shower gel dries out my skin more (the agents which keep the soap liquid are things like rubbing alcohol – bad). I’ve been looking, since then, for a bar alternative to shampoo. The woman who makes and sells this soap for dogs says she uses it in her hair. I’ll let y’all know how it goes. Meaning I’ll try it first, then the dogs.
I visited my mom yesterday, and of COURSE I had to bring Miss Honey a bone. A Jones Lamb Shank, just her size. She grabbed it out of my hand and ran to her hiding corner:
My mom says that Honey hid the bone under the couch cushion the instant mom stepped outside. I guess my mom’s in the bad habit of eating Honey’s treats when she’s not looking … we’ll have to talk about that. 😉
In other news, a friend’s grandfather is dying. His senior Corgi needs a home.
Taya (tay-uh) is between eight and nine years old, up to date on shots, regularly groomed, gets along with other dogs, and needs regular walks and senior food so she can get down to a respectable size for a Pembroke Corgi. She’s a cute little sausage right now, which seems to be pretty typical of dogs owned by seniors. My friend’s family members are all in positions which keep them from taking Taya in. I’d love to have her, but my own senior dogs would be very angry about it. And Hunny – brace yourselves – hates Corgis.
I. KNOW.
Let us never speak of this again.
So my friend has until October 1st to find a home for Miss Taya. She is currently in Wichita, Kansas. Please get the word out if you’re nearby? Thank you.
That’s a wrap! Leave your comment for a chance to win the Petco card! Leave a comment here for a chance at Jones Rabbit Jerky or a Mammoth Bone! I’ll announce both winners on Monday. The treats can only be shipped in the USA, but I can send the card anywhere, as long as you can use it where you are.
Until I write again …
