IF YOU HAVEN’T ENTERED THE TREAT GIVEAWAY, DO IT NOW!
Last night I visited with a couple of gorgeous dogs. One is a puppy, Rowdy. And now I have to show you a puppy.
The other dog you’ll see next week, since it’s our breed of the week dog, but OMD – y’all just have to see this puppy! Do you know what it is?
I walked into the house (one of the best things about my job is meeting strangers, going into their homes, giving their dogs treats and snapping pictures) and my eyes lit on this eleven week old Australian Shepherd immediately. SO. STINKIN’. CUTE.
Of course I gave Rowdy some Jones Beef Liver Taffy chews, just as a warm up. Poor little thing was shy. Aussies require a lot of socialization, especially young. Then we worked our way up to the treat for next month.
By the time we went outside, the puppy was sitting on my feet. Silly thing couldn’t get enough of the Jones chews. Even the big brother, who is a picky eater and I was told wouldn’t take a treat from me, was nosing me and begging for more. It helps that I started the big guy with a Steer Stick. Heh.
But the most fun was snapping a one-in-a-million photo, then playing with it. I posted it last night on FaceCrack:
And asked my friends to give me a caption for the winking puppy. Y’all are welcome to weigh in. One of my favorite captions was from Will, the husband of last week’s treat winner.
My friend Karen answered the call in her best Joey from Friends voice:
I have the best friends ever. You’re not my FaceCrack friend? You should be. My name there is stupid, since they won’t let me use Flea. It’s Felicia Christenson. Hmph. Here’s another from a friend, Jackie, at Pooch Smooches:
Y’all crack me up.
And because it’s This’n’That Thursday, a little bit of this and a little bit of that (thank you, 2 Brown Dawgs and Heart Like a Dog), I can also show you non-dog photos, right? Right? We had a horrific storm two nights ago. Plenty of people are still without power in the Tulsa area. Our lights went out for about 30 seconds at midnight. It was all pretty scary, reminiscent of the hurricanes I grew up with. Meaning we had a great time sitting in the dark and watching the lightning, listening to the wind. In fact, I stepped outside after the worst of the 70 mile an hour winds and saw Jimmy and Ryan standing in the middle of the yard. We all love weather.
That said, this was the sky a few hours before:
And this LAST photo is Flash and Humperdink, proof that things have returned to normal.
So if you haven’t entered the treat giveaway, the deadline is tonight. Get crackin’! You know your dog wants a Jones chew! And THEN, head over to the Great and Powerful Oz’s page and read the limerick he wrote for ME!!! And I’ll see y’all tomorrow!
Until I write again …
