Welcome to This n That Thursday, a blog hop sponsored by 2 Brown Dawgs. I love this day to play catch up, and today I want to catch y’all up on the fund raising event I attended this weekend, Y’all saw Hank on Monday, the rescue dog who will be an assistance dog to a veteran soon.

Some beautiful dogs were at the event, but let me just tell you what High Aim is, the group for which funds are being raised. In their own words:
The mission of High Aim is to help individuals with autism and other disabilities achieve maximum independence through the use of specifically trained canine partners.
Specifically:
- Raises or rescues, trains, and places assistance dogs with their partners.
- Provides support and continuing education to assistance dog teams.
- Provides respite care for assistance dogs when needed.
- Promotes community awareness and provides education about assistance dog teams.
I love this group! Every one I met was sweet and full of information. The dogs were amazing.

What’s not to love? High Aim is now on my radar and I plan to attend the next fundraiser with treats in hand. They hold a dessert auction, so I’ll be bringing Jones chews to place on the dessert table. They also have a donation supply list, if anyone (including myself) wants to adopt High Aim as their Christmas project.
In other news, Jackie, at Pooch Smooches, beat me to the punch in posting this photo of Jimmy.

She saw it on FaceCrack and asked permission to use the picture. I love this photo. Jimmy does not love this photo. I think he’s super embarrassed. I would be.
Yesterday I posted a Dogs of Jones Natural Chews feature. So far the feedback has been very positive. Thank you all! I look forward to featuring Jones dogs again in the future!
Thanksgiving is around the corner, y’all. What are your Thanksgiving traditions? In asking that, what I’m really asking is, are there any of you who DON’T eat turkey? Don’t get together with family? Don’t eat cranberry sauce shaped like a can? What do you do instead? Serve in a soup kitchen? Hang out at your local shelter? Eat ham or tofurkey? Have a luau? Get together with best friends? What do you do?
I’m afraid we’re traditionally boring here. We get together with family and eat turkey and dressing. Sweet potatoes and pie. Then watch football and play cards for hours. I like traditional and boring. It doesn’t happen often enough. But I love non-traditional holidays, too. Tell me what you do! I’d love to incorporate something new into the day. 🙂
Now y’all go visit 2 Brown Dawgs and pop around on the blog hop. It’s fun! See what everyone else is doing today. Tell ’em Flea sent ya.
Until I write again …
