There’s so much to catch up on this week! Our This’n’That Thursday will be a happy-sad-happy sandwich, since there’s so much, and I don’t want to drag everyone down. Helping friends is important, so stick with me here, since some of that sad will be in the middle.
Happy!
I’m having the rabbit neutered next week! YESSSSS! I’ve been wracking my brain to come up with a name for him, going so far as to post it on FaceCrack. All kinds of lovely suggestions were made, including Judas Priest and Hopalong. I’m torn between Humperdink and Hassenpfeffer. Humperdink comes out of my mouth now when I call the rabbit.
Sad.
It broke my heart to read, this week, that Bunny’s companion, Blueberry, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Osteosarcoma took sweet Blueberry. Please pop over to Tales and Tails and give Blue’s mama some lovin’? Losing a best friend to cancer is brutal.
Speaking of osteosarcoma – and I wish I weren’t – Norman, at Sand Spring Chesapeakes, has also been diagnosed with this horrid cancer. Norman is the same age our Clee-o was when she was diagnosed with bone cancer. Visit with JoAnn, will ya? Give her virtual hugs? Norman is still with us, but she knows he’s nearing the end.
Feeling helpless, I turn to a blog where I can do some good. Yes! Good can be done here! Many of y’all are familiar with Benny and Lily, the two ADORABLE French Bulldogs. Benny has also been diagnosed with cancer, but they’re fighting it tooth and nail. Liver cancer is a mean cuss, but let’s pop over and help Benny in his fight! I’ve donated once and am waiting for pay day to go help again. You can, too. Every dollar helps.
Helping friends is important. Helping friends is good. Whether it’s a hug, a kind word, a dollar toward helping heal a body, helping friends is possible. Thank you for helping our friends.
Happy!
I had visitors this week. In fact, eleven people dropped in, staggered through the day, on Tuesday. Jimmy felt like a king on Tuesday.
Ryan got all kinds of attention. He’s not a big fan of people, so it wasn’t necessarily a good day for Ryan Gosling.
But Flash and Patches love attention. Our first visitors fell in love with Flash, giving him pets the entire time.
By the end of the day, the dog was pooped! Both dogs. I gave them each a couple of Beef Liver Taffy treats and this happened:
They’re such good dogs.
Stay tuned tomorrow, when I answer all the questions asked in comments this last week! Goofy ones, serious ones, you name it. Random ones. Go ahead. Ask. And next week will kick off our blogaversary month, complete with weekly treat giveaways! You won’t want to miss that! In case you’ve been traveling in the way back machine with me, here’s day three of the road trip which started this whole thing. I still haven’t made those Reuben Rolls. 🙁
And please, please, please – drop in on the friends I mentioned above, even if it’s just to read their stories. You won’t regret it.
Until I write again …
