Happy Dogs
Happy Funny Bone Monday! Happy Memorial Day! And happy Dogs! Oh, and happy healing from surgery for me! I’ll tell y’all a little about that at the end of today’s post, as well as announce the winner of the Jones Natural Chews Bandit’s Bone giveaway! But for now, let’s do what we do best on Funny Bone Monday and enjoy some great dog videos!
Two things – a HUGE thank you to the men and women in the armed forces who put themselves in harm’s way for our freedom; and I sure wish I could express my happy as wholeheartedly as a dog. Wow. Happy dogs knock it out of the park. Including this next dog.
And get ready to meet the world’s happiest dog …
Awesome, huh? I’m all for adoption.
Recovery
In fact, I’ve only seen two of my own four adopted dogs since returning from the hospital on Saturday. Flash and Patches were happy dogs when I got home and have yet to leave my side.
Chewy and Gadget, being lap dogs, are still being pampered at Grandma’s house. My lap is currently covered in healing incisions.
I know some of you have been following my cancer story, so let me break down for you what happened with my surgery.
- The surgeon had to remove my entire rectum – I have a permanent bag – if you ask to see it, I’ll probably say no
- The tumor disintegrated when it was removed, but of the eleven compromised lymph nodes, two still had live cancer cells in them – six more months of chemo for me once I’ve recovered from surgery – not at all like Groundhog’s Day
- I spent ten days in a hotel spa hospital, with amazing care
- Recovery time is close to two months, so I won’t be attending BlogPaws, which breaks my heart
That’s about it. Ten days is a long time to be loopy and sore and taken care of by others. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts. I felt every one of them.
Winner
The winner of the Bandit’s Bone giveaway from Jones Natural Chews, and soon to be happy dog, is …
Julie Reese! Congratulations, Julie! Your pup is going to LOVE the Bandit’s Bone!
And that’s it! I’m sore and need to go back to bed. Y’all give your dogs a Jones Natural Chew and chat amongst yourselves.
Spreading the good chews …
