Global Pet Expo, Orlando

February 21, 2013

I’m here! I’m really here! The Global Pet Expo in Orlando!

So last night I arrived here:

The Fountains
The lobby of the The Fountains, I-Drive, Orlando

And attended a swanky soiree:

A networking party at the Global Pet Expo - boxer
This lovely boxer was making the rounds at the BowTie party Wednesday night

Yeah, dogs were attending the party. A big dog party. Big dogs and little dogs. Black dogs and white dogs. All at the dog party.

Pets Weekly Mascot
Stacy’s pretty Dalmatian is a great traveler, easy to care for, sweet and never bites. ;)

Stacy Mantle, of Pets Weekly, lives in Arizona. She’s considering chickens. I encouraged her to go for it.

Today I wandered from booth to booth. I started here:

Jones Natural Chews booth at Global Pet Expo
At the Jones Natural Chews booth, of course! Tomorrow I’ll tell you all about their new products!!

The very first dog I encountered was here at the JNC booth – Rocky, the Jones Natural Chews mascot.

Mascot
Rocky, the Jones Natural Chews mascot, is a handsome boy.

The Global Pet Expo is in the west building of the Orange County Convention Center. This place is mammoth. So when I say I wandered from booth to booth, I mean that I was speed walking, looking for live animals, and only made it through about a quarter of the show room floor in a couple of hours. Stopping to pet and talk on occasion. How on earth could I not? Look at this face:

All Four Paws
This handsome fella, a Great Pyrenees, is laid back. He’s enjoying the show while guarding the booth perimeter. Check out his chill collar.

Y’all, I so seriously wanted this dog. I spoke with his mama, Alexis of All Four Paws, at length. This will be my next dog. They’re HUGE. All Four Paws sells the nifty blue collars you see on this beauty. They’re filled with water, then frozen. The Pyr wears them to stay cool (Or they can be filled with hot water in winter), then the thawed water can be poured into their water bowl. They stay cold for two to three hours, depending on whether the dog is inside or out.

Next up? Two GORGEOUS retrievers. They’re not the standard goldens. Look see.

Retriever
The English Cream Golden Retriever is a little more sleek than it’s cousin the regular Golden. Just as friendly, though. Their mama sells way cool collars.

These dogs are called English Cream Goldens, and are likely to live a year or two longer than the standard Golden Retriever. They’re also less susceptible to cancer. And they’re lighter in color. Aren’t they pretty? Jacquelyn, their mama, sells light up collars which they designed for very furry dogs, so the light will lay the fur flat and be more visible. I’m taking one home to try out on my very furry dogs. Look for it in a giveaway later if I’m happy with it. I saw them on her pups and am sure I’ll like the collar. 🙂

I ran into some adorable little dogs. Y’all know how I feel about little dogs. But OH MY DOG. I had to stop and ask if this little fella was real. Seriously.

Cute dog!
This pup is real. Tito is a Pomeranian with a lion cut. I could put him in my pocket, he’s so tiny!

How cute is THAT?! The second one is a Yorkie, which isn’t necessarily the most stunning little dog. They say, though, that the clothes make the little dog. I believe it.

Yorkie in clothing
A sweet dress and rumba bottoms – *squeee*

Last, but not least, I met critters which made me instantly home sick. Y’all know what’s coming, right? This isn’t a dog expo. It’s a PET expo. Critters of all sorts are represented here. Including these:

Hen Saver
Crazy K Farm makes this Hen Saver. It keeps the roo from damaging the hen’s feathers, as well as keeping other hens from picking her.

*SQUEEEEEE* No, they weren’t overly friendly. Yes, those are diapers/aprons. Yes, they’re indoor/outdoor chickens.

And that’s when I had to stop. Chickens. At a pet expo. My day is completely done. 🙂

I Look forward to telling you all about Jones’ newest treats tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Until I write again …
