Good morning! And happy Funny Bone Monday, everydog! Before jumping into the funny, the winner of our very last blogaversary winner for the Crown Knuckle or Steer Sticks is …
Jessica, at You Did What With Your Weiner! Congratulations, Jessica! I’ll be contacting you shortly.
Today’s Funny Bone Monday topic is flying dogs. Y’all, start suggesting topics, will ya? Flying dogs? Whose idea was THAT? This first one … well, just watch.
Blink and you miss it. And this one because it’s summer and hot. And because I’m taking my boy to Blue Hole in Salina in a bit. Maybe the dogs will come with us.
So this next one’s not a dog, and it’s not flying, but it’s ADORABLE.
I LOVE this next one, but Dawn, over at Pet Auto Safety, is probably going to have a coronary watching it.
And we’ve all done this one, right? I know I have, with kids and dogs. They both love it.
I know I shared this last one awhile back, but it’s SO COOL.
Right? Very cool.
Speaking of flying creatures …
Pippin escaped this weekend. She just flew over the back fence into the neighbor’s yard. At 7:30 on Saturday morning. So Hunny and Thaniel dressed, jumped in the truck and drove around the corner to the neighbor’s. Pippin hopped another fence. Got into a different neighbor’s garden before the boys could get to her. Then jumped ANOTHER fence. And went out into traffic on the main road.
So. Why did the chicken cross the road? Hunny says that it’s because she was trying to escape the fat man waving a broom. Pipping crossed 91st Street twice trying to get away. Twice people slowed down and stopped, laughing at my husband and son chasing that darn chicken. Probably cussing up a blue streak the whole time.
We spent the better part of the morning, after that, catching chickens and clipping their wings. Stupid chickens. There are a couple who don’t need their wings clipped, and a couple we just couldn’t catch. Then there’s the goose, who started flying this weekend.
I didn’t catch her on video, but I did watch her fly across the yard, about three feet off the ground. Pretty darn cool.
Go congratulate Jessica! And for those of you who didn’t win a treat, there will be another contest next week. 🙂
Until I write again …
