Happy Funny Bone Monday! And happy birthday to my sister! There will definitely be a tribute video for her in this mix.
First, the winner of last week’s treat is Kaylene! Kaylene and I are FaceCrack friends (go like Jones Natural Chews on FaceCrack, people), and she saw one of my posts there. Her family has a new dog and they’re still trying to figure him out. In fact, they’ve ordered DNA tests to figure out what he is. All I know is that he’s beautiful.
I thought I’d take a crack at hipster dogs today. My teens are always mocking the hipster culture, even though they’re hipsters themselves. I love this video.
So if you don’t know what a hipster is, this next video personifies the hipster. With animals.
I think my favorite is the girl with the mustache. Yeah.
The owner in this next video is a TOTAL hipster. But the dog is just plain cool. Take a look.
How many of you are familiar with Dubstep? I wish I weren’t. Seriously. My boys love it. Fortunately, they have good headphones and I don’t often have to hear it. Mishka here seems to like it. Hipster dog. *smh*
Now, the last video is for my sister. And there are dogs. And I’m pretty sure there’s nothing hipster about it. I’m not even sure it’s funny. Happy birthday, Marguerite!
Finding hipster dog videos wasn’t easy. Personally, I think most animals are hipster, whether they like it or not. Take bunnies, for instance …

And chickens …

But I’m really not sure about geese. Ryan Gosling doesn’t seem to be a hipster goose.

This little dog, though … well, you’ll see more of him tomorrow. And the next day.

In case you’re still confused, here’s the Urban Dictionary’s definition of a hipster:
Hipsters are a subculture of men and women typically in their 20’s and 30’s that value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence, and witty banter… Hipsters reject the culturally-ignorant attitudes of mainstream consumers, and are often be seen wearing vintage and thrift store inspired fashions, tight-fitting jeans, old-school sneakers, and sometimes thick rimmed glasses. Both hipster men and women sport similar androgynous hair styles that include combinations of messy shag cuts and asymmetric side-swept bangs. Such styles are often associated with the work of creative stylists at urban salons, and are usually too “edgy” for the culturally-sheltered mainstream consumer.
Normally I avoid Urban Dictionary, but there really wasn’t a better place to get this particular definition. So now you know.
Well! Congratulations, Kaylene, on being our winner this week! Come back tomorrow, everyone, and try again, while we’re still running our July blogaversary giveaway posts!
Until I write again …
