Friends add life. On my recent road trip, I stopped and visited a multitude of friends, dragging a three day conference out for nearly two weeks. Why? Because … friends! Unfortunately, or fortunately for you, I didn’t get photos with everyone I stopped to see. And I was hopeful that my dogs would make new friends at the BarkWorld Conference. Nope. Outside of Louie the Frenchie, they were overwhelmed by it all. Even though I was giving Jones’ Rocky’s Rollers sausages to every dog I met.
Let’s chuckle at some videos of dogs making friends with cats. Or trying to. I’ll intersperse photos of friends. And read to the end, where you’ll find the winner of our Christmas Chewers Gift giveaway winner!
With four dogs and two cats, this is what our home looks like ALL DAY LONG. All day. Seriously. Friends add life, but cats add claws. That’s the dogs’ motto, anyway.
Know what else likes to hang out together? Dogs and raccoons.
For most dogs this ‘coon would be food. prey. My own dogs would be after it in a heartbeat. I’m not a raccoon fan, given that one ate four of my young chickens in one night, pulling them through the bars of their coop while they were sleeping. Not a fan.

The next set of dogs are protecting friends they have yet to meet.
Our first dog wouldn’t have dreamed of protecting me this way. Not from dad. But she protected me from the mailman. And squirrels. And blowing leaves. Just like the current set of pups do. Good dogs.
That there is my best friend ever. We had Cajun food together somewhere in south Louisiana, where she lives, just north of New Orleans. It’s always good to see old friends. And she’s old, believe you me. Well, she’s older than I am. 😉
