You read that right! Jones Natural Chews is having ANOTHER giveaway! A DIFFERENT giveaway! And for some reason, I always think of Miss Carma Poodale when I see the name of this treat – Chickly Links.
Chickly Links are a dog sausage made with chicken! It’s okay – I haven’t told my girls that it’s in the house. We’re going to look at what Jones has to say about the Chickly Links, then read the ingredient list.
Our Chickly Links are USA chicken with edible casings. These scrumptious treats come in two different sizes that all size dogs will appreciate. They will also break into smaller pieces for convenient training treats.
By the way, Chickly Links (and all of Jones products) are 100% made in the USA, with 100% of the ingredients grown in the USA. And what are the American grown ingredients in the Chickly Links?
Chicken, rye flour, salt, guar gum, liquid smoke flavoring, natural mixed tocopherols (natural preservative), rosemary extract, in a collagen casing – the collagen casing is human food grade
The main ingredient is chicken.
C’mon, y’all knew I was going there. But no, I don’t think Jones’ chicken is raised in their friends’ backyards. The chicken is all natural, though, as are all of the ingredients in all of Jones chews.
But do dogs like the Chickly Links? You betcha! Remember Zeus and Rowdy? They were my test subjects. Here’s Zeus warming up to me via a Chickly Link.
I explained to Zeus’ mama what I explain every time I give a new dog a treat – treats are meant to be dessert or rewards, not food. Never give a treat in lieu of food. While Jones Natural Chews are wholesome and delicious, with plenty of good meat, they’re still not meant to be a food replacement. Um, even though I did exactly that with a bag of Sausage Sticks yesterday with my dogs. But that’s a whole ‘nother story.
Think of it this way – even good, wholesome treats can be abused. Imagine giving your child five apples instead of lunch. The fiber would probably make itself known by supper time. ‘Nuff said?
ANYWAY – I gave Zeus a couple of the Chickly Links, broken in half, then handed his mama the rest in the bag, for later. Same with the Steer Sticks. It’s definitely possible for a dog to have too many treats.
Maybe you’re asking yourselves, “Why another giveaway? There was a giveaway EVERY WEEK in July!” Because it’s the first Tuesday of the month! We have a giveaway every month of the year! Isn’t that exciting? And you almost always get two treat choices, with this week being no different. Our other choice offering this month is the Beefy Straight Crown, designed for smaller dogs. So if you comment on today’s post and win, the Chickly Links are for either large or small dogs, while the Beefy Straight Crowns are for small dogs exclusively. They’re a great gnawing bone, but we’ll talk more about them next week, yes?
Rules – only US residents can win; comment on or before midnight CST (Tulsa time) on Thursday; tell me if you’re dog is little, medium or big. That’s it! Come back tomorrow for Breed of the Week!
Until I write again …
