IF YOU HAVEN’T ENTERED THE GIVEAWAY, DO IT NOW!! It’ll make your dog smile.
I’m loving this A to Z blogging challenge! Meeting new bloggers, new reading material, something different to write about every day! Today’s letter is C, and Chicken is a multi purpose word here on the Jones Natural Chews blog.
There’s a section in Jones product line devoted to chicken. As you might know, Jones only sells 100% all natural dog treats, and every last ingredient is grown and cooked and whatever in the USA. Totally. Here’s a short list of the chicken items:
- Chickly Links
- Tender Taffy Chicken Blend
See? Short list. That surprised me. You? My dogs actually eat quite a bit of the Chicken Taffy, since it’s soft, tears into tiny pieces for training, and comes in convenient sticks. Flash, Patches and Chewy LOVE the Chicken Taffy.
Here’s the deal – my mom’s Shih Tzu, Honey, is allergic to chicken. I had no idea, prior to dog blogging, that so many allergies existed in the dog world. I’m beginning to suspect that little Chewy might also be allergic to chicken. But I have friends whose dogs are allergic to beef, or to pork. It’s a good thing Jones has such a great variety of treats.
- Beef
- Pork
- Chicken
- Rabbit
- Venison
- Lamb
Here’s the skinny on Jones and chicken – the two treats they carry are amazing. The taffy we talk about all the time. The Chickly Links are one of Miss Carma Poodale’s favorites.
In talking to Jones about chicken, I asked why they don’t sell chicken feet. You don’t know about chicken feet? Evidently it’s one of two of the highest natural sources of glucosamine and chondroitin for senior and arthritic dogs. But the owners all agreed that there are too many tiny bones in a chicken foot and could cause choking hazards to dogs. And they look really gross. Lines have to be drawn, people.
The other highest natural source of glucosamine and chondroitin? The beef trachea! Fortunately for your senior dogs, Jones does carry those and dogs go NUTS for them! Windees!
Thanks for hanging in there today. I hope you learned a little bit! Chicken is good. Dogs love it. Some dogs may be allergic. And live chickens are cannibals. See?
Oh, if you haven’t left a comment on the giveaway post, do it now! It ends tonight! Your dog will thank you if you win! And look for Jones Natural Chews in pet and feed stores near you! If you can’t find them locally, Natural Dog Treat Shop carries the entire product line.
Until I write again …
