Boone County Fair, Belvidere, IL

Road trips rock. Road trips ending in a good friend destination rock even more. This one took me many places, including the Jones Natural Chews HQ, but first was the Boone County fair in Belvidere, IL. I had a couple of friends along for the ride, my road trip models, and they enjoyed the Boone County fair more than I did. It’s BlogPaws Wordless Wednesday, so let’s see what kind of fun they had.

John Deere at the Boone County fair — Fred and Bessie were my traveling companions to Illinois. It was their second honeymoon. Bessie swears she looks good in John Deere green, and I agree. And what’s a county fair without a tractor sighting?

Where dog treats come from — Because this was an educational trip for me, the Boone County fair was an educational trip for Fred and Bessie. They were startled to learn where **Pumpers** and **Other Ears** come from. Please don’t tell them where the **Dino Bones** come from.

Where Chicken Taffy comes from — These poor cows. I tried to get the educational stuff out of the way early, taking them through the livestock barns first. Being good friends with the hens back home, Fred and Bessie were startled to find out where **Chicken Taffy** really comes from. I think Bessie might have turned slightly green.

Boone County fair and cows — We moooooved on. Fred and Bessie chose the Boone County fair as their second honeymoon for a reason. They love county fair food, as well as kissing in the open air.

Remembered in a park bench — True love never dies. It lives on in park benches. Fred and Bessie hope to one day be memorialized this way.

Together forever at the County fair — I think I heard Bessie say that it was the best second honeymoon ever. She and Fred expect to be together forever. As true love should be.

No, I didn’t give Fred and Bessie any Jones Natural Chews this trip. It never occurred to me. They’re cows, people. But I did hear rustling around in the back of my car on the way home, and when I stopped for the night at Stella Rose’s house, I found the two cows in the ToteTails treat bag, nibbling on Windees. I didn’t have the heart to tell them that Windees come from cows. They were enjoying themselves way too much.
