Why would a dog owner want to find and buy Jones Natural Chews jerky for their dog? Why not just buy dog jerky from the grocery store? I ask myself these questions on Tuesdays.

I spent some time researching dog jerky this morning. Do you know what I found? Scary things. All involving chicken jerky from China. Almost made me cry. The very saddest part, for me, is seeing problems, deaths, recalls beginning in 2006, leading up to 2013. That’s a very long time for people to be selling and buying tainted dog treats which have been poisoning people’s dogs.
It also made me very glad that I work for Jones Natural Chews.
Y’all, I was just going to do a lighthearted post about how wonderful Jones’ Big Paw Jerky is. I started looking at dog jerky to get a feel for how many people like to give their dogs jerky. And the news stories pop up all over the place. I won’t give you details. I’m sure you’re familiar with them – recalls, dead dogs all over the country, all from Chinese dog jerky which major name brand dog food companies have been selling.
Shake it off. We’re going to talk about the good stuff now. The jerky which is made in the USA, 100% guaranteed. The jerky which is 100% all-natural. In fact, I can pronounce everything on the label on all of Jones Natural Chews products, which is always a relief.

We’re rounding out March talking about the Big Paw Jerky which I fed to Libby the Adorable Weimaraner a couple of weeks ago. Speaking of ingredients, let’s look at what is in this jerky:
Beef, rye flour, salt
Well. That was simple enough. No lead? No weird ingredients?
Beef. Check it out:
Safety and quality are the top priorities at Jones Natural Chews Co. We use food grade natural flavorings and do not allow any artificial ingredients in our treats and chews. We purchase our products from USDA inspected meat plants within the USA which are processed in our own plant, and we have traceable batch code numbers on all products.
I asked about gluten awhile back. I was told that Jones only uses rye flour when making treats which require a flour (jerky type treats). There are obviously very few ingredients in the treats, which is good. According to Jones, rye flour has far fewer allergens and no true gluten, making it the flour of choice. So there’s that.
Salt speaks for itself.
Ultimately, Jones’ quality assurance makes me smile:
Jones Natural Chews Co. has always been very proud to have the American flag on all of our products. All of JNC’s products are 100% grown and made in the USA. Jones Natural Chews, Co. is very proud to announce we are now certified. A third party audit by “USA Made” has certified all of our products with our very own number on it.
We know you care what you feed your pets. The quality of our products are very important to us here at Jones’. We go out of our way to provide safe and wholesome edible chews and treats for your family members. We have a very severe HACCP (Hazard Analytical Critical Control Point) plan in place. Stringent cleanliness guidelines, product testing (in our in-house lab along with outside laboratories), and product lot code and tracking, are just a few things the HACCP plan covers.
What else is there to say? I’m proud to work for a company whose dog treats are healthy and safe. Whose treats make dogs smile. And y’know what? While I don’t recommend it, and the bag says not to do this, Jones’ treats make kids smile, too.

Until I write again …
