Outtakes
Every photo shoot has outtakes, yes? Mine sure do, more now than ever. So Monday, taking photos of the dogs and the Beefy Straight Crown for our giveaway (click this link to get to the giveaway), I ran into problems. The first was getting a dog into a box.
Turns out boxes are more of a cat thing. Not so much a dog thing. Even if it is a Jones Natural Chews box. Then convincing the dog to even lick the Beefy Straight Crown? Not so much. There’s a hierarchy in our home. The pecking order doesn’t allow Gadget to gnaw on the bone until Chewy has had his turn at it first. Dogs follow their own rules, not the photographer’s. Hence the outtakes.
But what happens when you employ a photographer who follows her own rules? Dogs are never still, after all. Then you get outtakes like these, and you consider firing the photographer. Even if you are pretty close to her.
Yeah, that’s not a dog. Or a bone. The heck? Truth time – we have native sunflowers pop up in our yard every summer. I think they’re beautiful, even though the flowers are small in comparison to the towering stalks. I can’t help but take photos. Bees and birds are drawn to the flowers as soon as they bloom, which I also love. Hunny plants flowers to attratct bees and butterflies, so these only help. Just thought I’d share.
Last, Chewy is my thinking dog. Flash and Patches are adventure lovers (or they were, before they got old). Gadget is a little Napolean. But Chewy is my philosopher.
He ponders every little thing, including his Jones Natural Chews treats. Poor dear. Notice he was enjoying the Beefy Straight Crown while pondering. Don’t feel too sorry for him.
