This’n’That Thursday is a catch up day, with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Thanks to 2 Brown Dawgs for hosting this blog hop! I’m going to be all over the place today, but am going to start with Bark World.
Jones is sending me to Bark World this year, at my request, to learn more about dog blogging (I have all kinds of questions I want to ask the experts), as well as to hobnob with other dog bloggers. Y’all. Already I know that some of my friends will be there, like Gizmo’s mom, Lulu’s mom, Sugar’s mom, Pepper Pom’s mom. Who else is going? I’m an introvert in real life, but I love meeting new people. One at a time. 😉
I’m pretty darned excited. No, there won’t be a Jones booth. Yes, I’ll be the only Jones representative there. Yes, I’ll have treats, but just little ones. Help me out – what do I want to know more about? What do I want to bring back for those of y’all who won’t be attending? Information, etc.
Okay, so there’s the fun swag bag, too. Can’t forget that. Swag means I’ll have things to give away when I get home. But not one of those collapsible water bowls – people here already have dibs on them if I bring one home.
Some of you might be asking, “But what about all your animals? What will happen to Jimmy and Ryan? Mary Ann and Ginger? Gimli and Boromir? Flash, Patches and Humperdink? Who names your animals, anyway? What is WRONG with you, woman?!”
Just for the record, Mary Ann and Humperdink are the only ones I’ve named.
The other four humans in the family will be caring for the critters. I don’t know who will care for the humans. Hm. That will put a strain on them, caring for themselves as well as the critters. Poor humans.
Humperdink is playing the role of psycho bunny this morning, racing all over the house. Like a cat, y’know, when they go psycho? I’m surprised he hasn’t raced up and down the stairs to torture the cat.
Speaking of critters, I’m going to miss them while I’m in Atlanta. I’ll miss scooping goose and duck poop off the back porch. I’ll miss cleaning up little rabbit pellets. I’ll miss brushing shedding dogs. And a shedding rabbit.
Speaking of shedding rabbits …
Holly, a FaceCrack and Instagram friend (I’m fleabyte on Instagram – find me!), rescued a cat recently and it graciously came with a case of mange. We’ve been going back and forth about how to treat it. I know next to nothing about mange, only that pharmaceuticals used to treat it are poisonous, and that the cause is a mite. And a weak immune system. Have any of y’all had mange experience? Vet techs or rescue people? Help! Please?
I don’t think chickens and ducks get mange, fortunately.
Come back tomorrow for Follow Up Friday! Jodi, at Heart Like a Dog, asked me to co-host with her. Woohoo! I’ll be answering questions asked in the comments all week. So ask a question! The goofier the question, the more likely I am to answer. But I like bone and chew questions, too. Makes me feel smart when I know the answers. 🙂 Don’t hesitate to subscribe to this blog if you don’t want to miss any of our fun features!
Until I write again …
