Bark World is Here!

August 22, 2013

IF YOU HAVEN’T ENTERED THE CONTEST, DO IT NOW!

Bark World is here! I’m so excited! Why am I excited about Bark World? Let me count the ways …

Blogging conferences are a good investment of time and  money because there are awesome classes. For me, classes on blogging, SEO, photography, technology. Other people will be interested in classes about dog nutrition, rescue work, cats, video work. The classes are all top tier.

A wet, happy dog
I will not be bringing my dogs to Bark World, sadly.

Between classes there are speakers from around the globe, people who are at the top of their game, top in their field. Last year my favorite speaker was probably the guy from Twitter.

Even better than the classes are the people. Bark World, blogging conferences, are about networking. A fancy word for hanging out with really cool like-minded people. That’s the best part of blogging conferences.

Networking means handing out business cards. This year my business cards are in little plastic baggies. With treats. *SQUEEE* I love giving things away. But y’all, my suitcase smells like beef jerky. Which means that all of my clothes will smell like beef jerky.

Which means that all the dogs at Bark World will want to hang out with ME!!! Oh, this is exciting! Yes, some people bring their dogs to blogging conferences. I just know they won’t be able to resist a jerky scented Flea. What fun!

Some people attend blogging conferences for the swag. When you register for these events, they hand you a big bag full of free stuff! Sponsors of the event have their new and best products in the bag, hoping that attendees will go home and blog about the product. While I LOVE free stuff, I blog for Jones Natural Chews, so much of the product will be competitors’ stuff. There will also be cat stuff, and I’m not a cat blogger. I’ll be bringing that home to my aunt and her three cats.

So I’m at my aunt’s, blogging, getting my stuff together, getting ready to go. Knowing that I’ll have to put my best foot forward. Dogs like it when you gussy up for them. You know, if the beef jerky scent isn’t enough to get their attention, make up is my back up plan.

So I may or may not be blogging tomorrow. There’s just so much going on at a blogging conference! And go enter the naming contest!

Until I write again …
